After leading his side in the first edition of IPL, the prince of kolkata was controversially replaced by McCullum, the decision made by team's coach well known as "Bhookaa-Naan".He is now likely to lead his team KKR in the third edition of IPL.
Ganguly met his team owner in England when he was there to watch ICC T20 WorldCup, they discussed about the captaincy issue as well as appointing a new coach.
"Ganguly and ShahRukh Khan had a discussion about this when the left-hander was in London last week. They have agreed in priniciple that Ganguly will lead the side," the source said."There were also discussions about the possible coaches. Wright and Bevan are the front runners. It is up to Shah Rukh to take the final call."

The decision is more likely to come about as the eligible candidates for captaincy- Ricky Ponting and McCullum will be busy with the national duty during the IPL 2010.Jagadish R Jainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12407796356313262669noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-765066510185006351.post-43331927148564610312009-07-25T00:46:00.000-07:002009-07-25T01:44:51.532-07:00CLT20 Venues Decided

The venues for the inaugural Champions League T20 has been decided. Designed by Australian creative firm Witekite, the logo is intended to reflect the spirit of cricket in the hosting nations India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Srilanka.
The unveiling was attended by some senior officials and some of the cricketing legends Micheal Bevan, Aravinda de Silva, Clive Lloyd, who led the West Indies to victory in the first two editions in 1975 and 1979, Dilip Vengsarkar and Balwinder Singh Sandhu.

The event logo story - a celebration of cricket

The crowd is part of the action, hands up and cheering and shouting for their heroes. The circular shape makes a cricket ball hurtling down the pitch, seam up. Different player silhouettes and the crowd form a pattern around the seam.

The green seam indicates the one day ball and the green of the pitch and ground. The players and crowd surround this with motion and activity. The colours and figures on each side of the ball represent the event host nations coming together along with the world of cricket.

The colour and movement creates a festival, players and fans coming together from around the world to celebrate cricket in the sub-continent.
Jagadish R Jainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12407796356313262669noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-765066510185006351.post-26497829594066505592009-06-24T08:20:00.000-07:002009-06-24T08:42:42.732-07:00IPL Among Top 10 In The World!
The famous SportsPro magazine in its july issue had published the Top 200 world's valuable sporting properties. The youngest among the list is IPL which is a 2 year old event is unbelivelbily ranked 6th in th list, worth $ 1.6 billion. Unsurprisingly the FIFA world cup occcupies 5th position with a value of $ 1.7 billion. Being just 1 position down to FIFA world cup is a very big achievement for IPL.

The top four places are filled by the American sporting properties:

National Football League (NFL) at $ 4.5 billion. It is followed by Major League Baseball (MLB) at $ 3.9 billion, the National Basketball Association (NBA) at $ 3.35 billion and Nascar stock car racing at $ 1.9 billion.

The Ferrari Formula One team (7th) at a value of $ 1.55 billion is followed by Manchester United Football Club (8th) at $ 1.495 billion. Dallas Cowboys (10th), with the NFL team valued at $ 1.278 billion.
Jagadish R Jainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12407796356313262669noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-765066510185006351.post-9720919342826985162009-06-14T22:29:00.000-07:002009-06-14T23:04:25.679-07:00Champions Or Chumpions!Yesterday's match with England is end of saga depicting India to win their second title.
The whole nation is disappointed by the performance of the team especially the poor form of skipper MSD.
Here are the reasons I feel why India lost the match:

1. Miserable batting by Jadeja, who scored 25 off 35 balls which is not desired strike-rate in T-20 format. But you dont expect a new player like him to shine in his first match, that too in the situation of do or die

2. With 9 required of 2 balls and lethal Yousuf on strike, Indian fans still had a hope that India would make it, untill Dhoni commited a big blunder. Dhoni was supposed to take 2 runs when Yousuf hit the ball for straight drive, instead Dhoni restricted Yousuf to take just 1 run, which changed the whole scenario of the game. This is not the first blunder done by the Indian skipper, earlier in the last match against WI Dhoni failed to hit the stumps even when the ball was quite comfortably in his hand to runout Bravo , which cost him heavily.

3. Dhoni has to be blamed for other reason also. When Dhoni came on to the crease at the last 6 overs India required runs at a rate of 12 per over. Slowly as the match progressed to the last 3 overs and India required runrate of over 13 Dhoni was still seen defencing the ball just for 1 run.
Well..you don't expect any batsmens to play a defence at the last overs fo the T-20 format. This shows Dhoni's ability to play in the tense situations. Surely he is not a match winner.

4. Poor fielding by Yuvraj in the last over of England's innings gifted 4 runs t England.

One thing is for sure, nothing went well for Dhoni throughout the tournaments.
There is also smell of rumour that most of the Indian players where not happy with the behaviour of the skipper.Jagadish R Jainhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/12407796356313262669noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-765066510185006351.post-23043066512693845652009-06-05T06:49:00.000-07:002009-06-05T07:36:22.979-07:00Can strong contender for the ICC T-20 champion title, thanks to the board tournament IPL which had made the players to cope up easily with this short format of the game.
If India retain their title the lion's share credit will be given to the IPL also if India fails to retain their title, the loss may be responsible because of IPL.In other words IPL can have a negative impact as well as positive impact.
Well..you know the +ve impact and coming to -ve impact, the players seems to be very tired after playing game continously for a long time,it has even made some players injury pron.

Its upto the players what impact they make out of IPL.

<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript" charset="utf-8" many matches in IPL-2 but no match was good for him being the most beaten bowler for the chargers, but Gilly had trust in him and gave a berth to him in the final.Harmeet utilized this oppurtunity fruitfully with an impressive bowling figure, which led the charger to claim the tittle.

From being at the bottom of the table to winning the IPL crown ,it has been an extraordinary journey for the chargers.

Expect the same in the next seasons CHARGERS and hope that next time you have your city name Hyderabad on your logo
Jagadish R Discrimination Among KnightRidersMore and more trouble for KolkattaKnightRiders's owner Shahrukh Khan. This time its off-field and is more critical.
The assistant coach of KKR, Bicheal is under scanner for racially abusing an Indian team mate during the practise session. The unfamous coach without realising the consequences of his act said to one of his Indian mate that "YOU INDIAN DO WHAT EVER I SAY......".
The name of the targeted Indian is not yet revealed.
According to a local news reporter the whole story of racial discrimination started when SRK organized a party for their only win in the tournament, the foreign(white) players and Indians(blacks) were seen partying seperately. This was also seen on the field with the behaviour of the players.
What so ever!!I think Bicheal('BITCH'al) will have a hard time after his stinking act.
If Shahrukh is a real Indian then he will remove this rubbish(Bicheal) out of the team, with out any hesitation.
What you think guys ,what should be the best punishment for the RUBBISH HOLE??Jagadish R statistics,if I would have had a team then I would have quickly sold it.The frustration of the owners due to their team's turnover in the 1st edition of ipl was clearly seen.
8 0r 5 crores, this is not the profit the Franchise Owners were expecting. Moreover the loss incurred by many teams added worry to Lalit Modi, who is trying hard ragarding this issue.Im sure no owner will be happy by their turnover if their team wins the tournament.

With KKR at the bottom of the table there are talks that the KKR Owner Shahrukh Khan is
selling his team. The team performance and most importantly the profit are the major reasons behind this.
I wonder who will be buying the team, with probably a low profit turnover ratio??Jagadish R Shut'em UpBanglore RC might have lost their match against Deccan Chargers but one good news for the RC is their former captain Rahul Dravid is in blasting form. The man who was strongly critisized in the first edition of IPL that he was not fit to play the T-20 format, but he came back harder shutting the mouths of all the his critics. He scored impressive 48 against DC yesterday to help his team lose by a mere margin. This bagged him the orange cap for the most number of runs till date. The most costliest player,Kevin P replaced Dravid as the RC captain, but Dravid so intelligently replaced him as the best player in the team.
Dravid has given a clear indications that nothing matter before Experience.Jagadish R could have been easily won by India if Dhoni had declared the innings some time earlier. The test was drawn due to bad weather with NZ making 281 and India needing only 2 wickets for victory.<br
